This weekend I had the pleasure of seeing this woman perform traditional samba in Cachoeira, Brazil, with the group she heads, Samba de Roda Suerdieck. She’s 84. The crowd was every color and every age, it was heavenly, and I so wished the friends I wrote about here were out with me in the tropical night.
